Peripheral vision pdx tells stories that move the lens…
untold stories that highlight the lived experience and work of diverse people. More than that, we aim to create a culture of storytelling that celebrates the vision, agency and leadership of those “othered” in mainstream culture. There is power, courage and wisdom in the stories of those on the margins. When we center them, we are transformed.
Why is early investment critical?
Initial investment enables a production company like us to create the materials needed to pitch an idea to industry investors, giving them new options for nourishing and dignity-forward films that can compete in the marketplace of ideas. This requires growing the organization to include a working capital fund.
We invite you to move the lens by investing in this fund and creating a sustainable model of film development. Together, we can center new heroes and change which stories are accessible and visible to the entertainment industry, transforming our hearts and therefore our world.

WHY DO Films matter?
Stories can divide or heal, poison or nourish the spirit.
They can address cultural ills and seed solutions.
They shape our identities and communal dialogue.
They mold our image of a hero, and what it means to live “the good life.”
By telling new stories and centering new heroes, we make a new world possible.

THE GHOSTS THEY CARRY is a documentary examining the hidden crisis of first responder suicide and advocating for life-saving solutions.
No matter what the emergency service, first responders are more likely to die by their own hand than in the most dangerous jobs of our society. Through the lens of ordinary people, cutting- edge experts and passionate first-responders-turned-celebrities, we’re tracking down the most up-to-date research and revolutionary legislative developments to uncover what innovative solutions are arising from within to end this crisis smoldering behind closed doors.
